Weezer's

Today was Weezers.  Located on 20th St. in Battle Creek.  Service--First of all their server was friendly and was very timely on drink refills.  That being said we had to wait 35 minutes for our food.  Being on a lunch break that only last an hr. that puts in a pinch for time.

Food--overall was pretty good.   4 of us tried the wings.  They are definitely some of the best in Battle Creek.  I personally tried the hot wings and the triple club sandwich and fries as well.  The club was good.  Nothing out of the ordinary it was a quality sandwich.  The fries were average to below.  They came out warm not hot, and may have been slightly under-cooked.

Price.  The club and fries was 6.99 which is a pretty good price here locally.  And it was Monday which is .35 wing day--always a steal.

Overall Weezer's of Battle Creek was rated 2.5 stars.

Haven't been to Weezer's in several years. Let's start off with the service. Service was good for what it was. We were there at lunch and there appeared to be only 1 waitress, a hostess and 1-2 kitchen workers. I'm guessing on the number of kitchen workers based upon the amount of time it took to get our food which was over a half hour. While we were waiting for our orders, several couples who came in and ordered after we did received their food before us. And before anyone asks, no they didn't get cold food, the food they ordered was hot food. The waitress was decent with the drink refills, which if you know me, is very important. On to the quality of the food. The wings were outstanding. Some of the best wings I've had in years. I had teriyaki wings and they were excellent, good flavor and a good amount of meat on the wings. I also ordered the chicken burrito. It was a good size and tasted good. My only complaint is that it was somewhat dry as in it would have been better as a wet burrito with sauce on it. It does come with sour cream and salsa. The sides were dull and flavorless, rice and refried beans. The rice was just regular rice, not spanish or mexican rice and the refried beans were pretty bland. For the price,, $7.99 for burrito, $2.00 for a drink and .35cents per wing (Mondays only), the value was decent for what you got. The best value was the wings. If I had known they were going to be so good I would have skipped the burrito and just ordered a larger amount of wings. However, only buy the wings on Monday as they go back up in price the rest of the week.

Weezer's, so here it is the breakdown of my lunch at Weezer's, a bar and grill on 20th street
in Battle Creek, MI. First of all it should be noted that I have eaten at this location on one or two prior occasions, simply for the chicken wings (which always are good). However on this particular day I set out with the desire to try something other than the wings. In saying that, I made what I thought would be a safe choice and went with the bar and grill stand by, Nachos. First of all I should note the service which is always very slow was just that way again. Though the one waitress in the entire restaurant was able to keep drinks on the table, their kitchen staff was unable to get the orders out of the kitchen in a timely manner, in fact it took over a half hour for the food to arrive at the table. Once the food did arrive I immediately noticed that the nachos that I had ordered were covered in processed cheese. I have to say that if I wanted nachos covered in processed cheese I would go to the local gas station were I can get them for a couple of bucks rather than the $8.00 charged at Weezer’s. The processed cheese was not the only problem with this dish sadly enough. The chips were of poor quality and had a stale taste to them, along with beef that would have appeared and tasted as if it had been cooked days prior, than heated until it was bone dry. My feeling is this: If you can not make a dish that is better than some slob at home can make, do not put it on your menu, because the items on your menu represent you and your establishment. You can either have someone walk away thinking of the day that they will be able to return or have someone run away looking for the closest restroom.

Weezer's as stated above, Service--First of all their server was friendly and was very timely on drink refills. I had the beef burrito which was good and plenty but would be better served wet. I also had teriyaki wings and they were excellent. Weezer's has always had great wings that come in 4 or 5 different flavors. I will note I didn't leave hungry but was a bit rushed as the food arrived at about 35 min. and we were on our lunch.
